H.A. Westfall, OTR/L has
been working as an Occupational Therapist with children for over 20 years. These
services have been provided in a variety of settings (homes, early
intervention, on site school based programs, developmental centers, infant
programs, supported living, community based clinics). She has been in private
practice in the Livermore, Tri-Valley area since 1989. She is an OT vendor
for the Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB). She
earned her OT degree at San Jose State University, is registered by the
National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), and is
licensed by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT). She
is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), the
Occupational Therapy Association of California (OTAC), the Association of
Pediatric Therapists (APT), and the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association
(NDTA). In
addition to the standard OT treatment protocols, she has education, training
and experience using the Sensory Integration treatment model, the Therapeutic
Listening Program¨, Interactive Metronome¨, Integrated Listening Systems, specific treatments for sensory
defensiveness, sensory modulation, a variety of handwriting programs, and
oculomotor treatment protocols with the support and consultation of
Developmental Optometrists. She
has experience working with children individually and in groups, with other
professionals in co-treatments and consultations. Other professionals with
whom she has worked cooperatively include Developmental Pediatricians,
Developmental Optometrists, Physical Therapists (PT), Speech and Language Pathologists
(SLP), Classroom and Resource Teachers, Adaptive PE Teachers (APE), Behavior
specialists and aides. She also believes strongly in working closely with
parents, families, caregivers, in an effort to foster achievement across
environments. |
